Since late 2010, Amsterdam Street Art (ASA), acquainted the city of Amsterdam with street art. It has been working with local heroes and international artists to exhibit unique artworks at the annual ASA festivals and pop-up exhibitions. In addition, more than 100,000 followers brought the coolest new art pieces from the Netherlands and abroad. By doing so, ASA has played a major rol in the positive perception and acceptance of street art in Amsterdam. Now, the time is ripe for a new adventure: giving the best artists from Amsterdam the international platform that they deserve. ASA organizes Amsterdam Pop-Up Expo in Wynwood during the annual Art Basel Miami. Ten selected Amsterdam artists will exhibit their work in public space for an international audience. Through extensive social media coverage, over 100,000 followers will be kept informed of the event and activities. In collaboration with a Miami based partner, ASA will rent a unique location in Wynwood. Wynwood is currently one of the most extensive and flourishing street art districts in the world, and during Art Basel Miami, it’s a popular hang out for the 30,000 unique visitors (including art collectors, press and renowned artists). As a result, Wynwood becomes the temporary homebase of the international street community. To realise these adventureous goals, Amsterdam Street Art is looking for contributing partners. It is a unique opportunity for Dutch brands to present themselves during the Popup Expo in Wynwood. Asa will create extensive murals for its partners, and typically Dutch products (beer, bicycles, containers) which will be customized by artists, and sold to the public. Amsterdam Street Art also offers individuals the opportunity to participate. On August 1st, our crowdfunding project will be launched, where enthusiasts can make a donation and receive (for example) a unique work of a participating artist in return. To launch this project, together with the new website, Street Art Amsterdam and FF AMS are organizing a festive presentation at Club Up in Amsterdam. Interested parties and potential partners are welcomed to join the press conference and following event on August 1st from 21:00. The festivities will start at 23:00, with live painting by Shem Bakkus, Ives One, Tim van Vliet, Raf Eagle, Ottograph and many other artists. DJ’s: Alexander Valentine (VBX), Bubu (Dogg Town Records buttons ), Martin Lucas (JVDW), Rege Satanas (Red Light Radio) and Hero De Janeiro. You can also watch the live art painting, streamed online by TUNEMELT, which previously broadcasted WTTF and AOA. Altogether, this launch party will be taking ASA / Amsterdam Street Art and its artist to the next level, with a true 3.0 feel. www.amsterdamstreetart.com
