De deelnemende kunstenaars zijn: Laser 3.14 (co-curator), Two Things, Maoma, Modderfokker, The London Police, SIT, Juice, Peter Pontiac, Def P, Hugo Kaagman, Blade, Quik, Weazel, Wayne Horse, L’estoir, Pleasant, The Hope Box, Faith 47, Michan, Roos de Waal, Dopie, Casroc , Riccardo Cavalleri, Barnocky, e.a. De Finse zangeres/violiste Mirella Pirskanen zal op de opening optreden. Zij kreeg internationale bekendheid met haar optredens in o.a. Cirque du Soleil, Holiday on Ice en met Flairck. De expositie duurt tot medio oktober. Pleasant: I was very much inspired in life by classical french composer Jean-Philippe Rameau (1683 - 1764) His harpsicord and opera music have found a place in my collection and on numerous occassions it has spawn within me the passion to create art on lonely nights. He too was innovative during his time and sometimes misunderstood and attacked, especially during the Querelle des Bouffons controversy. For me he is my inspiration to see beyond the moment and know that art is an contribution made for eternity. Riccardo Cavalleri: Very often painting approaches music as source of inspiration. I’ve started this painting listening to the classical music, particularly to the famous 9th Symphony of Beethoven. The urging rhythm and the perfect harmony of the notes have brought me to see music as material; pictorial material so unforeseen busts, spray of colors, smooth and precise stroke of the brush are means to arrive to the representation of sound. Many experiments to send music into space have been done and I personally like to think to these notes as loose in an Apocalyptic way throughout the Universe, almost as soundtrack of what could have been the beginning of it all: the Big Bang; Perhaps the first sound, the first note! The action painting become a dance on a not danceable music. Thanks to my painting style it was easy to represent the melody and the strength of sounds at the same time. Each note is a color, each harmony has a depth in order to reach a perfect shade of color that communicate to the eyes as the melody communicate to ears. I used two cloths that united became one to emphasize the different sensorial aspects. Starting from different surfaces sight and hearing become one unique sensation. The madness of infinity held into colors perfection, sound waves, space, time. A real chemical mix as a metaphor of everything. SIT: I closed my eyes to focus myself on this dark but, pure sound. I never heard it before. It brought me to a place where there were no rotten' robots. Just these trees, moving to this sound. What a place to be. (Beethoven - 1st symphony)
Barnocky: I put on some classical waltzes and started painting... Faith 47: Brightblack I had to slow down to chopins pace a bit... I closed my eyes and though his song i felt something soft, profound, slow moving, delicate, watching, mystical, dreamy, moving and straight to the heart. Sea greens like my nail varnish and my granmothers old earings or retro furniture with a cream the tone of wintery sea bubbles.....' Remi Vervloet: I do not think I will ever witness perfection in music. I know this is perfection I hear. If perfection be that than which there can be no better. But I cannot witness Beethoven's "Fifth Symphony". I can only experience it. It's perfect!
Laser 3.14 CARNIVALS OF ANIMALS Animals gnawing or walking bi-legged Building fences the keep the animals in Building fences to keep them out Can an animal turn monstrous due to the original sin? Is karma in the mix? Is bliss out? Discontent in? An intricate built hive can shatter and dissolve due to doubt for doubt is the hive’s true enemy Tear the flesh of the bone and feed it to the masses Addiction to the cathode ray tube Silent subliminal roars at 25 frames a second Babylon in so many ways We pine for the demon that summons us in the night Everything is pale and worn out stilted by the endless fight
(by Laser 3.14) Michan: Get your classic.
