This year GAY Pride will be held in Amsterdam for the 11th time.
The highlight of Gay pride weekend is always the Boat Parade, held on the canals of Amsterdam on Saturday the 1st of August.
But Pride in Amsterdam is much more than just the parade and this year the organizers have had the ambition do more. Amsterdam is definately the creative capital of the Netherlands, where unconventional combinations are not frowned upon. Thus by bringing Art into the picture, Amsterdam Gay Pride expands its horizons futher. Art-lovers visiting Amsterdam during Pride weekend were dissappointed.
Last year though the Art world took the initiative to develop on more activities during Pride.
This year the organizers have worked on this ambition and created an "Art Route" along the Prinsengracht, in the Jordaan- and the Spiegel Quarter. GO Gallery took upon the task of organizing the same and will participate in the "Art Route" too with 3 artists:
Jan Van Breda(Photography), Gerard de Haan (Photography) and Rinldo Hopf (Watercolours).
All the participating Galleries are easily recognizable along the route because of the prominent Rainbow flag, the only flag in Amsterdam, that one can hoist all 365 days of the year.
